KiMs CraZy EaTing Clean, Vegetarian, Vegan (CVV)

Want to watch what I am eating on my craZy journey. If you are on My Fitness Pal you can Follow me and see what I'm eating all the time. Just shoot me your email address and I will send you my MFP name to follow.

Here are some of my favorite things that I have been eating or have changed over to since eating CVV.

I have pretty much changed my drinking to Green Tea only and this is my FAVORITE. TAZO China Green TIPS.  YUM I save this for when I want a treat other wise I purchase the 100 pack organic brand from Kroger.  Now that Whole Foods is open I may see what they have for other options. I have purchased a 3qt Iced Tea Maker that uses 7 tea bags at one time to make a large VAT of green tea.  I do not add any sweetener just drink it straight.  If I am going to boot camp (which I skipped today :( ) I will dilute it a bit with water.

Next is because I needed a sweet treat and since I have not begun any CVV baking yet it is good to have on hand.  It is So Delicious Coconut Milk Mint Chip Ice Cream.  It looked different and I thought I would give it a try.  After the first initial few bites getting over the different texture and taste it is now really good.  You almost have to forget what you were eating and realize that this is not that bad.  I like Mint flavored Ice Cream so I thought to start with this one.  I also picked up Cookies and Cream style and Cookie Dough.  The Cookies n Cream style was more for Dear H and he eats it but when I tried it.  UMMMM Not so much but I did really like the Cookie Dough one and will be purchasing that one again soon.

The one unfortunate thing in this eating for CVV you don't find any of these brands in the Sunday paper coupon section. And they are NOT cheap.  I do find that I am not eating as much as before except for last night I had two helpings of spaghetti squash.  YUM

Okay on to the very first thing I changed out of my routine.  I would always, every day, have peppermint Mocha Creamer...I needed to find a substitute quickly.  When looking at the creamers there were not too many options so I picked the Coconut Milk version because everyone is on the Coconut water kick.  I again went with the So Delicious French Vanilla Coconut Milk Creamer.  1. because they only had two versions regular and french vanilla and 2. because I wanted to make sure it was dairy free and soy free.  I feel as if I am eating a ton of soy and need to mix it up a bit.  But I am disappointed because I have seen a Hazelnut version that is no where to be found.  Hoping for a hit at Whole Foods Today.

Eons ago I got for free a milk frother so I could froth my milk before putting it in my tea or coffee.  Then I went on to frothing my Peppermint Mocha Creamer. So naturally I was going to froth my Coconut Milk Creamer, only it does not froth good AT ALL.  It is very disappointing every morning going to make my coffee I keep frothing in hopes that one day it will be fluffy on top of my coffee. But NO.  :(

In addition to going CVV I have given up eating bread as we know it.  The WARM CRUSTY BREADS that I pass at whole foods looking longingly at.  SNAP out of it....But before I really gave up bread or started this CVV eating my BootCamp instructor told us to try eating Ezekiel breads.  They were located in the freezer section...again as you know I am up for ANY thing so I switched for me and Dear H.  Though he is not a huge bread eater he has the option.  I did not find anything to different in it from the really grainy breads that I was currently eating so the transition was find.  My kiddos on the other hand much harder to transition.  I have been slowly moving them from the YUMMY SOFT White breads to the Whole Wheat then moving to some of the more Grainy breads to hopefully the Ezekiel bread.

If you have been following this blog you will know that I have been addicted to HEB tortillas which I too have given up.  I did break once and purchased the southwestern brand but only 10 count and ate only two.  Left the rest for Dear H who had no problem finishing those up for me.  I needed to find an alternative so I looked into Pitas and Ezekiel had them.  Granted they are SUPER HARD to get that pocket with out getting a huge hole in the middle but they definitely serve the need.  Two nights ago we had them with the next product I am going to talk about inside with some Kale.  VERY YUMMY and it helped fill a need of FEELing like I needed a meaty warm dinner.

Which leads me to my next product I have on hand for the days I don't feel like cooking for 10 hours to eat for 30 minutes.  the BOCA Spicy Chik'n Meatless Patty.  I like the Spicy Chic'n Patty because we would eat a lot of regular chicken patties and this was a great substitute for that.  We have also switched our burgers over to Morning Star Black Bean Burgers and if you can get to CostCo (if they still have them) there are a quarter pound Morning Star Black Bean Burger that is DELISH when you want that big summer time burger.  Load that puppy up with Tomato, lettuce, mustard, catchup, Grilled Onions, Grilled Mushrooms,  OMG my mouth is watering already...Too bad the nearest CostCo is 45+ minutes away.  All my groceries would melt or thaw by the time I get home.

To help transition from the HEB Tortillas I used a TON of the Rice Paper.  It has a different consistency but I was able to fill it with pretty much anything.  There great for something quick to make.

Another thing that I gave up eating was tortilla chips.  We could polish off a bag of those in no time eating with salsa, guac, and anything you could use to dip.  We started wanting something to snack on that was Chippy but I did not want to start purchasing a bunch of snacks yet.  When I was walking through the new Kroger they had Taro which I remember was turned into a chip.  EXCELLENT so for the past few weeks I painstakingly, for at least an hour or more, use my mandolin to slice the taro into chip size portions, spray each with olive oil and lightly salt, then Bake in the oven at a low temperature till they become crispy.  That is great and all but before I can even get through the first batch my Dear H has deVOURed them.  UGH  It is a TON of work for just a little bit of Chips.  They are awesome but super time consuming and you KNOW how I feel about that.  :)

OkaY I am going to leave you with this because while looking up my green tea picture from Starbucks I came across this KitKat image.  I have no idea what it is...I am going to try and look it up more but any of my blog reading friends out there know what kind of KitKat this is please let me know.  Have you tried it?  What does the packaging say?  Green Tea KitKat??  Do you think it would be good or bad??
I am on a mission to find one and try it. I will let you know if I find one.

At the EnD of the Day I love a good mystery...Green Tea KitKat here I come.  ~Kim from TeXas
